Privacy Policy

ZintLedger (“ZintLedger”, “we”, “our”, or “us”) is a business record-keeping app developed by Niya Tech Labs Pty Ltd. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use ZintLedger.

ZintLedger is designed with a privacy-first approach. The current ZintLedger Pocket version stores your business records on your device and, where enabled by you, through your Apple iCloud account. ZintLedger Plus, where offered, may provide additional cloud-based storage and sync features using secure third-party cloud infrastructure.

1. ZintLedger Versions Covered by This Policy

ZintLedger Pocket

ZintLedger Pocket is the standard on-device version of the app. Your expense, income, invoice, payment, receipt, and evidence records are stored locally on your device. If iCloud sync is enabled on your device and supported by the app, your data may also be synced through your personal Apple iCloud account.

For ZintLedger Pocket, we do not operate a central ZintLedger server that stores your app records. We cannot normally view or access your Pocket data unless you choose to send information to us, for example when requesting support.

ZintLedger Plus

ZintLedger Plus, where offered, may include additional features such as multi-device sync, enhanced backup, business dashboard access, team access, or other cloud-enabled services. If you choose to use ZintLedger Plus, some of your app data may be stored using secure third-party cloud storage and database services managed on our behalf.

ZintLedger Plus is optional. If you do not use Plus features, the cloud storage practices described for Plus will not apply to your Pocket-only use of the app.

2. Information We Collect or Process

The information handled by ZintLedger depends on the version and features you use.

Information you enter into the app

You may choose to enter business and financial record information, including:

• Expense records, including date, supplier, category, amount, GST setting, payment method, notes, and business-use percentage.
• Income records, quotes, invoices, payments, and related business notes.
• Receipt images, attachments, or other evidence you add to support your records.
• Business settings, preferences, categories, and app configuration choices.

ZintLedger Pocket storage

In Pocket, the information you enter is stored on your device and may be synced through Apple iCloud if iCloud is enabled. Apple’s handling of iCloud data is governed by Apple’s own privacy and iCloud terms.

ZintLedger Plus account and cloud information

If you use ZintLedger Plus, we may collect or process additional information required to provide the cloud service, such as:

• Your account details, such as name, email address, and login information.
• Business profile details you provide.
• Cloud-synced app records, attachments, receipts, and evidence files.
• Subscription, billing, or payment status information, where applicable.
• Basic technical logs required for security, troubleshooting, and service reliability.

Device, diagnostics, and support information

We may receive limited technical information if you contact us for support or if app diagnostics are provided through platform services, such as Apple crash reports or App Store analytics. This may include device model, operating system version, app version, crash details, and general usage diagnostics.

We do not intentionally collect biometric information. Face ID, Touch ID, or device unlock features are handled by Apple on your device. We do not receive your facial, fingerprint, or biometric data.

3. Sensitive Information

ZintLedger is designed for business record-keeping and tax evidence organisation. It is not designed to collect sensitive personal information such as health information, government identity documents, or biometric identifiers.

However, information you choose to enter or upload, such as receipts, invoices, or notes, may contain personal information about you, your business, suppliers, customers, or other individuals. You are responsible for ensuring that you have the right to store that information in the app.

4. How We Use Information

We use or process information for the following purposes:

• To provide core ZintLedger functionality, including recording expenses, income, invoices, payments, receipts, and evidence.
• To display reports, summaries, dashboards, and business record views within the app.
• To support on-device storage and, where enabled, iCloud sync for Pocket users.
• To provide cloud sync, backup, account access, and related services for Plus users, where offered.
• To troubleshoot bugs, improve app reliability, and respond to support requests.
• To maintain security, prevent misuse, and comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information.

5. Data Storage

ZintLedger Pocket

Pocket data is stored on your device. If iCloud is enabled, your data may also be stored and synced through your Apple iCloud account. We do not control Apple iCloud and are not responsible for Apple’s handling of your iCloud data.

ZintLedger Plus

If you use ZintLedger Plus, your data may be stored using secure third-party cloud storage and database providers. This may include structured business records as well as file attachments such as receipt images and supporting evidence.

We take reasonable steps to protect information handled through ZintLedger Plus against unauthorised access, misuse, loss, modification, or disclosure.

6. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell your data to third parties. We may share or disclose limited information only in the following circumstances:

• With service providers: For ZintLedger Plus, we may use trusted service providers for cloud hosting, database storage, file storage, authentication, payments, analytics, diagnostics, or customer support.
• With Apple: For Pocket users using iCloud, data sync and storage may be handled through Apple iCloud under your Apple account.
• With people you authorise: If future Plus features allow team, accountant, advisor, or shared business access, information may be visible to users you invite or authorise.
• For legal reasons: We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, court order, legal process, or to protect rights, safety, and security.

7. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect information handled by ZintLedger. These measures may include device-level security, Apple platform security, encrypted transport where cloud services are used, controlled access, authentication, backups, and monitoring.

No method of storage or transmission is completely secure. You are responsible for protecting access to your device, Apple ID, iCloud account, ZintLedger account, and any backup or export files you create.

8. Data Retention and Deletion

ZintLedger Pocket

Pocket data remains on your device unless you delete it, uninstall the app, reset your device, or remove related iCloud data. If your data is synced through iCloud, you may also need to manage or delete that data through your Apple iCloud settings.

ZintLedger Plus

For ZintLedger Plus, we retain your information for as long as required to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, maintain security, and enforce agreements. You may request deletion of your Plus account and associated data by contacting us.

Some information may be retained for a limited period in backups, logs, audit records, billing records, or where retention is required by law.

9. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights to:

• Access personal information we hold about you.
• Request correction of inaccurate information.
• Request deletion of your account or cloud-stored data, where applicable.
• Stop using the app at any time.
• Disable iCloud sync through your device settings, where applicable.
• Export, delete, or manage records within the app, where supported.

For Pocket-only users, most app data is controlled directly by you on your device and/or through your Apple iCloud account.

10. Children’s Privacy

ZintLedger is intended for business users, sole traders, freelancers, and small business record-keeping. It is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

11. International Storage and Processing

For Pocket users, data may be stored on your device and through Apple iCloud, depending on your Apple account and iCloud settings.

For Plus users, where offered, information may be stored or processed using trusted cloud infrastructure that may operate in Australia or other jurisdictions. Where we use cloud providers, we take reasonable steps to ensure appropriate security and privacy protections are in place.

12. Third-Party Services

ZintLedger may rely on third-party platform or infrastructure services to operate certain features. These may include Apple services for app distribution, iCloud sync, diagnostics, subscriptions, and device-level security. Plus features, where offered, may use additional cloud hosting, database, storage, authentication, payment, email, or support providers.

Third-party services may process information according to their own privacy policies and terms.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, including when we introduce new features, launch Plus services, change storage providers, or update our legal or operational requirements.

When we make changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above. Significant changes may also be notified within the app or on our website.
